We currently have 2 contracts for highway verge mowing, Suffolk Highways & Lincolnshire Highways.
We use a combination of Votex Jumbo Flails and Votex Salix Flails.
We chose Votex for their industry-wide reputation and the fact that we can cut
at a slightly higher speed than hydraulic systems but still maintain the standard
required by our clients.
We also have Spearhead long reach hedge & grass cutters that we also put grip cleaning
heads on for grip cleaning throughout the winter.
This is one of our Massey Furgusson
tractors fitted with the Votex Salix.
It is belt driven so can handle cutting
grass at up to 10km/h
This is another Massey fitted with the long
reach hedge/grass cutter. this is hydraulically
powered and can only cut at approx. 4km/h
We tend to use these mainly for the grip
cutting due to the articulation of the arm
giving increased visibility of the work area.
The photo on the left is of one of the Jumbos
in action, as you can see the quality of finish
is very high, even at speeds of 8km/h!
