Tilbrook Landscape

A11 Roudham Heath to Attleborough and A10 Wadesmill By-pass Dualling Project.

As part of the Highways Agency's constant road improvement scheme both the A11 and A10 have undergone changes.

The A11 that runs between Roudham Heath and Attleborough was dualled to accommodate the increase in traffic and Wadesmill in Hertfordshire was By-passed.

Tilbrooks were successful in winning the contract to plant and maintain these sites for 5 years.

The A11 project consists of approximately 90,000 plants and trees, newt ponds and newt fencing. The maintenance side of the contract consisted of replacing any plants that had died and cutting the grass for the site once a year.

The A10 project consists of Approximately 130,000 shrubs and trees, newt ponds and newt fencing and the maintenance includes grass cutting for the entire site and replacing the dead shrubs and trees.

We worked very closely with the national trust and other wildlife conservation organizations to create Otter holts, hibernaculars (underground shelters for wildlife), newt relocation areas and also topographical variations to make the new landscape look as natural as possible.

Below is a brief snapshot of the A10 project and a location map of the A11 project, the new road is highlighted in red..
